I so relate to this. I took my first plunge just a couple of months ago (also in the South West) using AW, and arrived absolutely terrified. But the girl was so lovely and easy-going that I've now been back a second time. It is luck of the draw to some extent, but all the advice given here by others about doing your research and making initial contact I would endorse. So, for example, when I received the address and postcode a few days before the meeting I checked out the whole area on Google Maps - I even targeted my parking space!
