I have a regular I've seem for many years. I used to see her more but now maybe 5 times a year as I live further away. When we meet it's a like old friends meeting but I'm not really a friend. For her it's money for me a nice time. It is nice that she knows what I like..I know what I'll get...so it works well.

why is it risky ?

I would guess the risky bit is having strong feelings for an escort. The relationship is business deal. When you get to emotional then it complicates the relationships original simplicity of customer / client. Whilst I've not "suffered" this predicament I have liked a couple of my regulars and known personal stuff about them and them about me. It is best to keep anymore than that out of it.

Not sure about "partners" but friends yes its certainly possible to become good friends over time.
