I'm interested in the wider debate regarding the legal aspects of seeing escorts.
It is notable to me that different countries apply different approaches.
But it's also very notable that you can't please everyone regardless of the legal aspects.
Freedom is slavery it might seem.

Prostitution is perfectly legal in this country.
However, there are a whole host of things that make it illegal.
Brothels are one, advertising is another.
We all know the authorities turn a blind eye unless there`s bother.
Gentlemans agreement that works.

I was watching something on TV.. redlight greenlight.. apparently it's pretty impossible to avoid bother.. the more legalised and accepted prostitution is... the more bother..
Of course these things are agenda driven often..
So its interesting to hear the punters perspective.
And not just the ones who regret having ever punted.

Decriminalization is the much better way to go.

However sadly linked to it sometimes is modern day slavery and trafficking and those must remain illegal.

In the current "pc woke" world I can't/ dont see prostitutes as being a group within their " inclusive" agenda.

I doubt many on here would disagree, but then again we have a vested interest in the subject.

My own view on this is criminalizing adult, voluntary, and consensual sex – including the commercial exchange of sexual services – is incompatible with the human right to personal autonomy and privacy. In short – a government should not be telling consenting adults who they can have sexual relations with and on what terms.

I could be way wide of the mark here, but I think they'll only legalise it if they can monetise it. To do that, they'd have to tax it, and so much of the industry is still a cash business that doing so would divide it into a mainstream vs underground situation. The underground scene would win that battle handsomely.
I don't know how it works in other parts of the world, though.

Plus, criminalization exposes sex workers to abuse and exploitation by law enforcement officials, such as police officers. Human Rights Watch has documented that, in criminalized environments, police officers harass sex workers, extort bribes, and physically and verbally abuse sex workers, or even rape or coerce sex from them.
